A little about CASA PRANA
Stay in my Jungle Chic Beach House at Termales, Nuquí Colombia
When my time at Morro Terco came to an end and I purchased my own block of land, the real adventure began. With very little knowledge of construction, nor the spanish vocabulary to go with it, I started work on building my very own off grid home. I partnered with a local carpenter and was as hands on as he permitted me to be.
I trailed in his wake like an enthusiastic puppy as we hiked up into the jungle to form a fallen ancient tree into the planks of wood that would be laid as floorboards in my home. Watching this old man as he expertly maneuvered his archaic chainsaw, making straight and uniform cuts for me and the other helpers to heave onto our shoulders, slipping and sliding our way down the muddy track back to my plot of land.
The other building materials needed to be ordered and shipped on the cargo boat and required significantly more logistics and patience. Here are just a few photos to show the progress from the wild jungle land to the finishing touches as of this date (February 2024) The house will be available for rental from July 2024. So if you want your own little taste of paradise, you know where to find it!
